This week in the card class we are making paper appliqué cards. Basically these are cards made from cut paper arranged on the card to mimic the look of cloth appliqué. Valentines are particularly suited to this technique. See the full post for samples and instructions.

In the greeting card class I encourage the students to add embellishments to the cards and to decorate the envelopes. This adds to the enjoyment of the recipient and sets a handcrafted card apart from a purchased card. In the week featuring stenciling, adding a bookmark as a decorative element is offered as an option.
